Rescue Readers – Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, in partnership with Fans of WCRAS, have a reading program they call “Rescue Readers.”

“Our Rescue Readers program allows kids of all ages to come to the shelter on Sundays to read to the dogs or cats (with an adult),” says Sherly Hays. “This benefits both the kids and the animals! The dogs get quiet and find it soothing. We are a very large and usually noisy shelter! So far we have had very favorable response to the program and may soon be offering a week-day time.”
